The Ramadan 2.6 Challenge

Set up a fundraiser to get family, friends and more to sponsor you doing 26 or 2.6 of… anything you like! On the 26th of Ramadan, 2.6 miles, 26 times, or for 26 minutes, it’s completely up to you.

Dare to Save Lives whilst you take on this challenge virtually!

Thousands of fundraising events across the UK have been cancelled or postponed because of the Coronavirus, including the London Marathon which was due to take place Sunday 26 April.

This was always an incredible day, full of joy, celebrations and unity. The organisers of the biggest sports events across the country have come together to keep the spirit of the London Marathon alive, with a new campaign to raise vital funds for charities. We would love you to be part of it with Islamic Relief!

What is the Ramadan 2.6 Challenge?

The 2.6 challenge is for all ages and abilities. All you need to do is think of an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26.

You could run 2.6 miles (keeping 2m from others!). Do 26 chin ups. Or do a 26-hour gaming marathon – whatever you’re interested in and works best for you, you do it!

Just ask your friends and family to sponsor you, and take part on the 26th of Ramadan.

How to Take Part:

    1. Decide on your 2.6 or 26 activity
    2. Set up your fundraising page
    3. Share your plans on social media with both #TwoPointSixChallenge and #Lifesavers. Once you’ve signed up, keep us updated with how you get on via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Don’t forget to use these hashtags #TwoPointSixChallenge and #Lifesavers so we get to see!
    4. Do your challenge on the 26th of Ramadan!

The Cause: Keep someone safe this Ramadan

This Ramadan, despite the pandemic, Islamic Relief is still working around the world, making sure your donations get to those who need them most. We are on the front lines in over 30 countries, just like we have been with every major disaster since 1984, delivering food, water and emergency relief to those in desperate need.

Please don’t wait, people need your help more than ever.

The Prophet (SAW) said:

“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Tirmidhi)

We know that these times are tough on everyone, but Allah (SWT) has given us the answer. Allah has told us that Sadaqah protects us from calamity and sickness. He even tells us that giving charity increases your sustenance! Allah is indeed the most generous, Alhamdulillah.

Keep people safe from harm and conflict this Ramadan.

By raising £260 you can provide hygiene kits to families living in conflict, and well as provide shelter and protection to displaced people by giving them a home.
