For the past seven years, the people of Syria have been suffering the devastating consequences of war with no end in sight.
A staggering 13.1 million people across Syria are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, including more than five million children.
Three million people are living in besieged areas without access to humanitarian aid and the total number of displaced Syrians has risen to 11.5 million.
Urgent need for humanitarian aid in Eastern Ghouta
Since Sunday 18 February the emergency situation in Eastern Ghouta has worsened, with violent clashes reportedly resulting in over 500 people dead and thousands more injured.
Islamic Relief recently supported besieged communities in Eastern Ghouta through the winter with non-food items and fuel for heating.
An emergency response has now been initiated, aiming to support 2,834 families with emergency food assistance.
Despite the ongoing escalation in hostilities, our work continues as planned, providing vital assistance to vulnerable people in Eastern Ghouta.
