Somalia: 1,299 orphan children receive gifts for Eid al-Adha

Islamic Relief Somalia distributed Eid al-Adha gifts to children who were orphaned throughout the country as well as those living in camps but whose families were unable to provide them with clothing.

1,299 children in Abubakar A-Sadik Orphanage School received clothing for their eid gifts.

Farhia Muse, a 50-year-old mother who has orphan children, was one of the households afflicted by the country’s periodic drought. During the drought, she lost all her animals.

Farhia was so excited to receive Eid gifts for her children and shared:

These Eid gifts are very important for these families here today, specially, the orphans. We were not expecting to get any this year and it was not part of our plan, but you really made our day!
