Islamic Relief UK responds to passing of Junaid Jamshed

We have just received the tragic news of the passing of Junaid Jamshed in a plane crash in Pakistan today.

Junaid Jamshed has been a long-time supporter and friend of Islamic Relief. He was one of the main performers at the Evening of Inspiration tour of 2012, and was due to return to the UK for the Evening of Inspiration tour later this month.

Imran Madden, UK Director of Islamic Relief, said:

‘We are deeply saddened to learn that Junaid Jamshed and his wife were among those who died today in the plane crash in Pakistan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones at this difficult time. We also remember in our prayers all the other passengers and crew who lost their lives in this disaster.’

Junaid Jamshed will be remembered for his huge contribution to great causes all over the world, and for inspiring millions with his nasheed performances.
