Virtual Mosque: Helping you to maximise on the blessed month of Ramadan
Alhamdulillah the blessed month of Ramadan is upon us. We created the Virtual Mosque to bring together lots of resources to help you make the most of the blessed month.
To ensure that we remain a reliable resource for our community and beyond, we’re working with highly qualified scholars to ensure that the information we share is ‘scholar verified’, and remains in accordance with Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). We believe this is paramount to fulfilling our organisational values, such as Ihsaan (excellence) and Amana (custodianship).
To ensure transparency, any content reviewed by one of our scholars on our website will carry the ‘Scholar Verified’ badge, and we will publish the dates at the bottom of each relevant page for when that page was last reviewed and by which scholar.
Virtual Mosque: Eco-Ramadan
Ramadan is an important spiritual month for Muslims. It’s a time when we remember Allah (SWT), worship Him and thank Him for all He has blessed us with. Alhamdulillah!
However, for many of us, it’s also a time of increased spending, increased eating come iftar time and increased consumption.
As Muslims, we’ve been instructed to look after the Earth by Allah (SWT). In the Holy Qur’an, He tells us:
“Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” (Qur’an 2:60)
Sadly, our increased consumption is having the opposite effect of what Allah (SWT) requested. We’re destroying the planet and worsening the impact of climate change. That’s why, this year, we’re introducing a new Eco-Ramadan section in the virtual mosque. Here you’ll find lots of resources to help you reduce your impact on our beautiful planet during this blessed month.
