Islamic Relief UK was delighted to welcome friends to a parliamentary reception in celebration of Eid-Al-Fitr. Hosted by Friend of Islamic Relief Lord Sheikh, guests from the worlds of politics, civil society, faith and civil service came to celebrate this important time of year in the Islamic calendar and the longstanding friendships Islamic Relief has built over 35 years.

The keynote speaker for the event – The Rt. Hon Penny Mordaunt, Secretary of State for International Development – captivated the audience, talking about the longstanding relationship between Islamic Relief and her department and our critical role as a partner in the life saving work of UK Aid. Noting her pride at the generosity of British Muslims in their giving during Ramadan, the evening was an immensely joyous occasion.
Guests were given a first-hand insight into Islamic Relief and were able to learn more about our work from both the staff and volunteers in attendance.
