Islamic Relief calls for de-escalation of violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel

Islamic Relief is urging all those responsible for the escalating violence that has occurred in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel over the past few days to bring that violence to an end. Any further escalation poses a real danger of more civilian casualties, including children.

Islamic Relief condemns all violence against civilians and all attacks on places of worship, including synagogues, mosques and churches. We call on all sides to desist from and help prevent attacks against religious sites, in order to protect the safety of worshippers and uphold their right to worship in peace. All have the right to live in safety and dignity, and to have their fundamental human rights upheld. We believe that this will not ultimately be possible until the root causes of the crisis are addressed and there is an end to the injustice and inequality at the heart of it.

Islamic Relief urges world leaders to make strenuous efforts to prevent any further escalation of violence,  and to work towards a lasting solution that is rooted in international law and justice.
