Ramadan is a time of self-discipline and self-sacrifice when we turn back to Allah. During this holy month, we show gratitude for the life we have and strive to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
This Ramadan, more than ever, millions of people across the world are struggling to survive due to poverty, famine, disasters, climate change and conflict. They’re in dire need of support.
Islamic Relief: Inspired by the Qur’an
Here at Islamic Relief, we treasure the blessing of life given to us by Allah Almighty. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah (SWT) tells us:
“Whosoever saves a life, saves the whole of mankind.” (Qur’an 5: 32)
As a faith-based organisation, working to support the world’s most vulnerable people, we are inspired by this verse of the Qur’an and this Ramadan we ask our supporters to join us in being 5:32 and help us save more lives than ever before.
Since 1984, we’ve saved and changed more than 117 million lives worldwide. Working in over 30 countries, we’re providing life-saving, life-transforming support to men, women and children in need across the globe. Your donation could feed a malnourished baby in Yemen, care for an orphan in Pakistan, protect a family in war-torn Syria or send relief to any of the over 30 countries we support.
This year the UK government will match £2m of the total raised for our Ramadan appeal
Match funding from the UK government will enable us to support people in Ethiopia, providing farmers with ways to cope with drought using special insurance and innovative technology. This will allow farmers to ensure their families and livestock can access life-saving water during periods of drought.
Be 5:32 this Ramadan.
