We are currently recruiting for the position of Community Fundraising & Volunteer Officer (CFV) to be based at our north regional office.

We are looking for a self motivated, resourceful and creative individual to join our dynamic fundraising team. The post holder will be responsible for developing and optimising community fundraising by setting-up strong volunteer networks across the region. This includes coordinating local events to maximise income and implement key fundraising strategies. The CFV officer will work closely with local donors, community leaders, volunteers and supporters and will be responsible for communicating Islamic Relief’s work to existing and potential new donors.

The Successful Candidate:

- Experience of recruiting, supervising and developing volunteers for small and large scale fundraising initiatives.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to motivate and manage volunteers
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload as they will be in frequent contact with local schools, businesses, mosques and community groups.
- Experience of maintaining and developing databases with the ability to report on the local market, development strategies and income and expenditure.
- Exceptional communication, networking and organisational skills.

The nature of work requires the individual to often work evenings and weekends with occasional travel nationally. The post holder must have strong motivation and empathy toward Islamic Reliefs mission and values.

Mosque Relations Officer (Midlands Regions)

Islamic Relief is looking to recruit a self motivated, resourceful and creative individual to join our dynamic fundraising team in Midlands as Mosque Relations Officer. The post holders will be responsible for establishing, developing and managing a network of sustainable relationships with mosques and with such parties or groups which influence mosques within the Midlands regions. The Mosque Relations Officers will work closely with local mosques and other community organisations and leaders to raise funds and awareness within communities.

This is a busy, wide-ranging and demanding role that will require initiative and a flexible working approach.

The Successful Candidate:

- Previous experience of community engagement role (particularly with mosques).
- Experience of engaging and working with different levels of management within mosques, Islamic Centres and other Islamic Organisations.
- Experience of working with volunteers and a strong team player
- Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community
- Competent in at least one other community language (like Urdu, Bengali, Arabic)
- IT literate with ability to use MS packages, particularly Word and Powerpoint.
- Strong organisational skills i.e. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.

An excellent opportunity has arisen in Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) for a talented and energetic individual to join our Supporter Relations Unit (SRU) as the Orphan’s Assistant. Reporting to the Orphan’s Officer, this is a vital supporter-facing role, providing an excellent level of service to Islamic Relief’s supporters in line with the standards set out in Supporter Care framework. The job holder will provide support to the orphan’s officer and will play a key role in ensuring communication with supporters are of the highest possible standard. They will also need to ensure that all enquiries are handled efficiently and promptly whilst maintaining accurate financial records and supporter records on the database. This involves handling both general and orphans related enquiries and the administration of UK orphans one to one sponsorship programme.

The Successful Candidate:

- Experience of working in customer service environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in liaising with multiple stakeholders
- Good levels of computer skills with experience of working with databases and competent in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point
- Good standard of numeracy
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a methodical manner with attention to detail
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver on tight timescales and work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and team work skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
