We’re calling on YOU to take action today by encouraging your local mosque to commit to giving a khutbah on gender justice, the key dates are 29th November or 6th December. These two dates are incredibly important because they fall within the period of the UN 16 days of activism.

Combating Inequality

Here at Islamic Relief, we’re committed to tackling gender inequality in all its forms. With 1 in 3 women experiencing physical and/or sexual-violence in their lifetime, it’s crucial we take action.

That’s why we’re working with communities across the globe and here in the UK, to mobilise people to stand up against gender-based violence. Working with faith leaders and mosques across the country is critical in raising awareness of VAWG.

We’re calling on YOU to take action today by encouraging your local mosque to commit to giving a khutbah on gender justice, the key dates are 29th November or 6th December. These two dates are incredibly important because they fall within the offcial UN period for 16 days of activism.

To help ensure you have all the information you need, we’ve designed a special khutbah on gender justice.  Please share this with your mosque aswell as accompanying guidelines. These two guides can be found below, and provide all the information you need on violence against women/girls.

So take action today! Get in touch with your mosque and sign them up to the campaign by emailing campaigns@islamic-relief.org.uk. Don’t forget to tweet us with the hashtag #ThroughHerEyes, adding the name of the mosque that will be participating and any photos from the day!

Through our online map, you’ll then be able to see which mosques across the country are dedicating themselves to delivering a gender-based khutbah.

Let’s see the world #ThroughHerEyes. Sign up today!
