Clothes Recycling

- Islamic Relief processes around 3,000 tonnes of donations each year.
- Over £3.4 million has been generated through clothes recycling to support worldwide projects over the past 5 years (2011-2015).
- There are over 270 clothing drop-off points in the UK.

Islamic Relief started collecting clothes in the early 1990’s and have since developed the clothes operation so that over the past 5 (2011-2015) years, over £3.4 million has been generated to support various projects worldwide. Operating under the trading name of TIC International Ltd, there are now over 270 clothes drop-off points and 13 charity shops nationally, a fleet of collection vans and a sorting plant based in Birmingham.

Money raised from clothes donations has helped people up onto their feet, enabling them to support themselves. We have provided health care in Pakistan, contributed to Islamic Relief’s emergency response to the East Africa crisis, and provided micro-finance loans in Bangladesh. In 2014, we implemented water projects in Yemen giving beneficiaries access to water in their local area. Last year, funds raised from clothes donations helped Islamic Relief build 2 schools for girls in Iraq, and supported orphans and orphan projects in several countries.

Alhamdulillah, all this has been possible by the Grace of Allah SWT, our supporters, and donors. May Allah SWT accept from you. Ameen ya Rabb.
