Since 2002, Islamic Relief has been providing interest free loans in Kosovo, to provide people with opportunities to establish their own income, which has been a vital source of financial support for many communities. To date almost £7 Million of loans have been distributed, benefitting over 7,000 people, and rising.
Loans usually come with problems for impoverished communities when it comes to paying them back but the proof that these loans have been making a difference is that 98% of all the loans have been paid back. This is when the recycling starts; once repaid by one person, the money is then loaned out to another person, and then another and then another… and on it goes. Money certainly doesn’t grow on trees but here’s the proof that it can be recycled so that lives can grow for the better.
