East Africa Crisis Appeal
More than 16 million people are on the brink of starvation and children are dying from malnutrition and preventable diseases.
People are in critical need of food, water and medical treatment, with women and children suffering the most.
Islamic Relief is already on the ground in East Africa, delivering life-saving assistance such as food, treatment for malnutrition and clean drinking water to millions of vulnerable people.
But we need your support to continue providing urgent life-saving aid to families and whole communities.
22 million people are in need of your help
- More than 800,000 children under five in these countries are severely acutely malnourished
- 5 million people across the region do not have a regular supply of safe drinking water
- 22 million people across East Africa are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance
Please give now and help save lives
Droughts in Kenya, leading to crop failure and livestock deaths, has doubled the number of Kenyans living without adequate food supplies from 1.6 million to 2.7 million in just six months.
Mohamed Noor, from Neboi in Northern Kenya, is a pastoral farmer who has been severely affected by repeated failed rains in the region, which killed his camels, goats and cattle.
Not only did this diminish his livelihood, it made it extremely difficult for him to feed his family.
The erratic weather patterns since 2011 have forced him to move away from traditional livestock farming, but he wishes that he had started to diversify earlier.
Alhamdulillah, people like Mohamed are receiving help from us today, but millions more are still in desperate need of food.
Unless we act now the number of deaths will drastically increase
People are dying and will continue to die. We need you to donate generously to help us scale-up our support and reduce the impact of the crisis.
Please donate now and help save lives.
