We are currently recruiting for the position of Community Fundraising & Volunteer Officer (CFV) to be based at our north regional office.

We are looking for a self motivated, resourceful and creative individual to join our dynamic fundraising team. The post holder will be responsible for developing and optimising community fundraising by setting-up strong volunteer networks across the region. This includes coordinating local events to maximise income and implement key fundraising strategies. The CFV officer will work closely with local donors, community leaders, volunteers and supporters and will be responsible for communicating Islamic Relief’s work to existing and potential new donors.

The Successful Candidate:

- Experience of recruiting, supervising and developing volunteers for small and large scale fundraising initiatives.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to motivate and manage volunteers
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload as they will be in frequent contact with local schools, businesses, mosques and community groups.
- Experience of maintaining and developing databases with the ability to report on the local market, development strategies and income and expenditure.
- Exceptional communication, networking and organisational skills.

The nature of work requires the individual to often work evenings and weekends with occasional travel nationally. The post holder must have strong motivation and empathy toward Islamic Reliefs mission and values.

CSAs act as the first point of contact for Islamic Relief UK to ensure that a high level of customer care is provided to all our supporters and donors. You will be responsible for managing the switchboard, taking donations and dealing with supporter and donor enquiries effectively. In order to perform the duties the post holder must demonstrate high level of professionalism and be passionate for the cause. The CSAs must have excellent telephone manner, good communication and interpersonal skills and good IT and data entry skills. Previous experience in customer service environment is desirable but not essential.
