An excellent opportunity has arisen at Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) for an experienced, professional and highly motivated individual to join the IRUK HR team as HR Business Partner. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Service, the post holder will be responsible for all HR matters in IRUK, provide advice and guidance on HR and employment law related issues to IRUK departments, teams and managers from multiple sites across the UK. The HRBP will also ensure that the services team meets the agreed deliverables to a high standard.

The HRBP will review and implement all related employee relations policies and procedures (aligning with employment law advice) including analysis and resolution of ER issues such as grievances, disciplinarians, redundancies, maternity leave, paternity leave, attendance etc.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a degree, CIPD qualified or equivalent (extensive HR experience may also suffice in place) and member of the CIPD
  • Have strong and seasoned analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and laterally, to overcome challenges.
  • Be able to prioritise and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; proven experience of managing multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
  • Have extensive experience of generalist services or business partnering in HR is required.
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing strategies and work plans which help to deliver the wider organisational objectives.

An excellent opportunity has arisen at Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) for an experienced and professional individual to join the IRUK HR team as HR Advisor (Services & Resourcing). Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the post holders will lead on recruitment and manage the HR Services function within IRUK, ensuring all relevant activities are legally compliant and within IR’s HR framework. The HR Advisor will also contribute towards the development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures relating to HR Services (in IRUK) in collaboration with IR’s HR Department.

The successful candidate must:

  • Be CIPD qualified or equivalent and member of the CIPD
  • Has strong working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
  • Has substantial experience in managing payroll and recruitment resourcing activities in a medium to large organisation.
  • Has strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal
  • Has strong computer skills including MS Excel
  • Has experience in people and activity management as well as delegating roles and authority in a way in which enables teams to reach their targets/objectives
  • Approachable as well as ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Media Relations Manager

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen in Islamic Relief to work as the Media Relations Manager in the UK Communications Department on a 6 months fixed-term contract. The purpose of the role is to advise on media relations for IRUK and to manage Islamic Relief’s engagement with the media in order to advance the organisation’s advocacy, communications and fundraising goals, maintain and build a positive public profile and manage reputational risk. The role line manages one post – Media Relations Coordinator and is responsible for strategic planning of media relations activities in line with the organisational strategy, as well as the day-to-day management of the unit.

The successful candidate must:

  • Have experience in devising and implement a media relations strategy and policies in line with Communications departmental objectives and wider strategy
  • Oversee the development and implementation of budgets, annual work plans and project plans for major marketing campaigns, events and other initiatives requiring media relations support
  • Manage and oversee Islamic Relief’s key media sponsorship partnerships
  • Provide communications and media engagement advice and support to the UK Director – and other spokespeople as required – in relation to sensitive and strategically important media relations, public engagement and advocacy activities
