Following months of political unrest, the situation in Yemen has reached crisis point, according to the UN. Violent clashes between government and tribal groups have led thousands to flee their homes in search of safety and security.
As the unrest becomes prolonged, many families are struggling to survive as food prices increase and many are not able to work due to the lack of security. Additionally, as internally displaced families have been helped with accommodation in some towns that they have been fled to, this has led to severely deteriorated living conditions.
Islamic Relief in Yemen
Having worked in Yemen since 1998, Islamic Relief is on the ground and in a position to respond to the current crisis. Emergency distributions of food, as well as essential household items, such as mattresses and blankets have been distributed to thousands in Aden.
