Day 4

Cambodia border!
Day 3
Day 2 started with a 2 hour bus ride to the outskirts of the city, as soon we even sat on our bikes we were dripping in sweat. We jumped on the bikes, and off we went into the blistering heat. Alhamdulillah we passed through some amazing scenery, small narrow paths through a jungle type terrain. Crossing rivers on makeshift rafts and pushing ourselves! The people of Vietnam are amazing in every sense, they were narrating stories of yhe war to us, explaining the destruction that took place and yet they smile. we must have said Hello to over 100 people, all standing at the side of their houses waving and saying hello. Today was meant to be the easy day of just 50km... But the heat was the overriding factor... Tomorrow we are Insha'Allah completing 90km and its forecasted to be even hotter and more humid. But we strove through and remember our intentions, and the people we are Insha'Allah helping. Please remember us in your duas ...

Day 1
After 13 hours of flights, and a 7 hour time difference. We finally made it into Vietnam to be greeted by a slap in the face by some very very intense heat. We were taken to eat, and straight back to our accommodation to discuss tomorrows plan. Also it was Arafat’s birthday :) ... We all went for a walk to acclimatise ourselves with our new surroundings and it was time to get 2/3 hours sleep before tomorrow's ride.
The team has set an incredible £100,000 fundraising target, with all money raised to support Islamic Relief's water for life projects in West Africa, which is currently going through a food crisis following droughts.
The money raised will help towards digging wells, constructing micro-dams and building systems to capture and purify rainwater, helping communities access clean water for years to come
Give water, give life
