| Following months of political unrest, the situation in Syria has reached crisis point. As living conditions and security has deteriorated considerably, thousands of families have fled their homes to escape the ongoing violence and many have fled the country to the borders with Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon.
Islamic Relief is working on the Jordan and Lebanon borders, through established offices in both countries and is providing emergency assistance to families that have fled to the border areas.
In the past few weeks, the following activities have been conducted on the Jordan border:
- Emergency food pack distribution to over 1,200 people, with each pack consisting:
- Rice
- Sugar
- Cooking oil
- Macaroni
- Beans
- Cheese
- Lentils
- Hygiene kit distributions
- Canned meat distributions
- Formula milk distributions for children
- Families have been provided assistance with shelter
