Various sectors in the Gaza Strip such as education, health and agriculture are to have a boost thanks to Islamic Relief Palestine and Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah signing a new agreement of around £9million with funds from the GCC programme.
Part of the implementation of the development work in Gaza includes the construction of the Nasir Medical Compound in Khan Younis, establishing and equipping 100 computer labs in the Gaza Strip, an agricultural land rehabilitation project, building two new floors in Al Aqsa hospital and providing it with enough electricity as well as supplying other hospitals with medical machines.
Dr. Mohammed Alsousi, Islamic Relief Palestine Country Director said, “We thank the GCC Programme or Gaza Reconstruction and IDB for the efforts and support that benefits the Palestinian people and we are proud of our partnership with them.”
