Islamic Relief Scotland organized an annual dinner for its volunteers to acknowledge the significant contribution of our volunteers for the betterment of society and to mark the Islamic Relief Scotland’s volunteers week. This social event provided an opportunity to meet with and know other volunteers engaged in different projects of Islamic Relief Scotland, share their progress with one another, and acknowledge the difference they have made in past 12 months.
Habib Malik, Head of Islamic Relief Scotland initiated the event by appreciating the efforts of volunteers’ team in Scotland and welcomed them in the dinner. The participants introduced themselves and the fields they are engaged in working for Islamic Relief. Mr. Malik in his address shared the last year’s progress of Islamic Relief both in Scotland and Worldwide.
He encouraged the significant increase in the number of volunteers coming to Islamic Relief during past few months. He praised the efforts of volunteers who spent their precious time and money during all this time period to make this organization successful.
Shokat Aksi reminded the volunteers about his initial efforts with Islamic Relief team to establish this organization in Scotland. He explained that the purpose of volunteering is the betterment of humanity and our ultimate goal is to provide our best services to poor and needy for whom we work as volunteer. All the volunteers were of the view that this kind of events really help them to measure, recognise and celebrate their progress for the betterment of society and increase the impression that they are part of Islamic Relief family.
